Recycling Solution - Industrial Design Industrial Design BSc final year project. The year long project to create a brief, devise concepts, and progress a concept through to reach a final design. The development is shown within and includes CAD renders and videos; also shown are critical reports and presentation boards. Abilities Shown Because of this project, the designer was honoured with the 'Hightest Academic Achievement' award for his year. The strengths of the design were: Its modular, flexible design Its consideration of the target maket Its satisfying the original need The appropriate use of materials
		Bespoke Spices - Web Design A website for a spice retailer. The customer wanted a simple, elegant brand that was 'no-nonsense', and this was to be echoed in their website. The designer used his programming knowledge and understanding to choose the appropriate web technologies: PHP for flexibility when designing the shopping basket, SQL to handle a dynamic product range and user feedback, and Cookies to remember user preferences. With the exception of the photography, the graphics were produced specifically for this site. Abilities Shown A thourough understanding of, and ability to hard-code in PHP, SQL, JavaScript, HTML and CSS. Also, an advanced knowledge of Photoshop and Cookies.
TakeFive - Business Design Whole business concept including plan, logo and corporate branding. This was completed to apply for enterprise funding, and the business plan was submitted to a regional 'Dragons Den' style competition. The business began trading in 2008 and is prepairing for a second successful summer. Abilities Shown Designing a business solution for a particular market section. Shows the thought involved in the development of the branding, logo design and kiosk design. Personally steering the business from the initial idea, towards applying for funding and then begining trading.
